Chopin Tribute on May 1, 2010

On May 1, 2010, California Ballet Company will be presenting their Chopin Tribute at the Balboa Theatre in Downtown San Diego!

The program will feature the romantic classic Les Sylphides, as well as a premiere ballet, Concerto #1, choreographed by Director Maxine Mahon.

California Ballet’s Chopin Tribute is part of a yearlong , 12 concert festival honoring the 200th anniversary of the birth of composer Frederic Chopin. This bicentennial celebration is a collaborative effort among leading arts organizations.

Participating organizations include: San Diego Symphony, La Jolla Music Society, and the San Diego Youth Symphony and Conservatory.

Two performances of California Ballet’s event will be available on May 1st, at 2:30pm and 8:00pm. Tickets are already on sale for this two-show event, so don’t miss your opportunity to see the classics at their best!
